Voting Criteria

• A vote for a business will only be accepted if the business operates within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters boundaries. View map.
• Subsidiaries and franchises are eligible, but must be nominated as the local entity, for example, ”Travel Associates Norwood Place”, “V2 FIT Kent Town”
• Pop up businesses (i.e. businesses which are not intended to permanently operate from their premises) are not eligible.
• To be nominated for the Hall of Fame category businesses must have been operating within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters for a minimum of 20 years and are eligible until inducted.
• All types of businesses are eligible for nomination in the Best Customer Experience category.
• To be nominated for the Best Independent Small Business category, businesses must be an independent, small business (one that employs fewer than 20 people) with its own unique identity, typically family owned and operated.
• Businesses can be nominated in all relevant categories and can win up to 2 categories.
• Nominations can be lodged by business owners, employees and the general public.

Category Definitions

Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame award recognises a truly exceptional local business — one that embodies excellence, consistency and the community spirit that makes the Eastside so special. This award celebrates a business that has its roots firmly placed in the City of Norwood Pyaneham & St Peters and continues to inspire loyalty and love from its customers.Selected by the people through public votes, the winning business must have been operating in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters for more than 20 years.

Legends
The Eastside Business Awards Legend honours previous winners who continue to set the standard for excellence, commitment and passion across the Eastside.

Best Arts / Entertainment Experience
For the places that inspire, entertain and bring people together! This includes cinemas, galleries, theatres, music venues and entertainment experiences that ignite creativity on the Eastside.

Best Food / Beverage Manufacturer
Celebrating the creators behind the flavours we love—think local producers, brewers, distillers, roasters, bakers and makers who artisanal food and beverages right here in the Eastside.

Best Independent Small Business
For our hardworking local independents who bring personality, creativity and heart to the Eastside—across any industry. From boutique retailers to niche service providers, this award celebrates true local spirit.

Best Hair / Beauty Salon
For the salons and studios that help us look and feel our best! This includes hairdressers, barbers, beauty therapists, spas and skincare specialists who enhance our natural beauty and make every visit a treat.

Best Professional Service
Recognising the trusted professionals who keep our homes, businesses and community running smoothly—from accountants, real estate agentsand designers, to consultants and health specialists and everything in between.

Best Health / Fitness
For the gyms, studios, clinics, wellness and allied health providers helping locals live their healthiest, happiest life. This category celebrates more than 4,700 health and fitness businesses across the Eastside community.

Best Retail
Shining a light on the stores that make shopping local a joy! This includes fashion, homewares, furniture, giftware and supermarkets—plus our previous retail legends and finalists who continue to innovate and excel
This award celebrates the shops that contribute to Eastside’s vibrant retail scene through quality products, great service and strong community presence.
Eligible businesses include general retail stores that are not part of the personalised award categories.

Best Restaurant / Pub
This award recognises venues that offer exceptional evening dining experiences. It includes everything from fine dining establishments to popular family restaurants, known for their high-quality food, creative menus and welcoming atmosphere. Both new contenders and past finalists are eligible.
It also celebrates licensed venues where people come together to relax and connect. From busy pubs to cosy cocktail bars and wine lounges, this award showcases places with great service, strong community ties and a vibrant night-time atmosphere.

Best Café
This award recognises venues that define the daytime dining experience. From breakfast and brunch favourites to expert coffee spots, these cafés are known for their exceptional coffee and food and friendly service. They’re the places locals gather to catch up, refuel and feel part of the community.
Whether it’s a quick morning coffee or a long brunch with friends, this category celebrates the cafés that make Eastside shine during the day.
