Nominating your favourite town will help to increase awareness of
that town’s agricultural contribution, and put that town in the running for the
following stage in the Agricultural Town of the Year process – the public vote.
Nominations can be made by anyone.
About the program
The Agricultural Town of the Year Award, an initiative of the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) and delivered in partnership with InDaily, highlights the vital role that agriculture plays in the regional landscape – being the backbone of many regional communities.
The Agricultural Town of the Year Award recognises South Australian towns that excel in agricultural practices and are great places to live and work.
The program provides an avenue where communities can learn from one another which will play a role in building capacity and increasing growth in regional South Australia.
celebration event
The Agricultural Town of the Year Award will be announced and presented at the South Australian Regional Showcase Awards in early November 2026 with key community and council members from the finalist towns invited to attend, providing the opportunity to network and connect with members from other finalist towns.
A celebration event and sign unveiling will be held in the winning town early 2027.
