Each year the Eastside Business Awards recognises and celebrates businesses in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, giving customers, business owners and employees the chance to nominate and vote for their favourite business across 12 categories.

Voting opens at 7.00am on Thursday 18 February 2021 across 12 categories.

  • Hall of Fame (20+ years)
  • Best Fashion Retailer
  • Best Coffee
  • Best Hair/Beauty Salon
  • Best Independent Retailer
  • Best Emerging/Start Up Business
  • Best Café
  • Best Restaurant
  • Best Pub/Bar
  • Best Customer Experience
  • Best Entertainment Venue
  • Best Food / Beverage Manufacturer
Those crowned the best of the east will win a $1,000 advertising package with Solstice Media and a choice of business advisory service (business planning, budget and forecasting or bookkeeping training) to the value of $1,000 with BIAS.

Once you cast your vote, enter the ‘Voter’s Choice’ competition to go in the draw to win a $250 voucher to be used at a business of your choice located in the City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters.

Program Overview

The Eastside Business Awards is an annual program that recognises and celebrates exceptional and outstanding businesses located in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters.

This year, we want to uncover even more shops, boutiques, restaurants, cafes, services and other great businesses within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters that have helped create memorable and remarkable experiences.

Whether you’re a resident, employee, shopper, trader or visitor we encourage you to keep an eye out for local businesses you think deserve to be recognised and celebrated in 2021.

Key Dates
  • Voting is open from 7.00am on Thursday 18 February until 5.00pm on Thursday 18 March 2021
  • Finalists will be announced on Wednesday 31 March 2021
  • Winners will be announced:
    • Awards Ceremony: Tuesday 13 April 2021
    • Published Online: Wednesday 14 April 2021
Voting Criteria
  1. A vote for a business will only be accepted if the business operates within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters boundaries. View map.
  2. Subsidiaries and franchises are eligible, but must be nominated as the local entity, for example, ”Travel Associates Norwood Place”, “V2 FIT Kent Town”
  3. Best Entertainment Venue category can include, function centres, movie complex, bowling, games and pool lounges.
  4. Pop up businesses (i.e. businesses which are not intended to permanently operate from their premises) are not eligible.
  5. Best Emerging/Start Up Business category includes businesses that have commenced operation in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters 2020 or 2021.
  6. To be nominated for the Hall of Fame category businesses must have been operating within the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters for a minimum of 20 years and are eligible until inducted.
  7. All types of businesses are eligible for nomination in the Best Customer Experience category.
  8. To be nominated for the Best Independent Retailer category, businesses must be an independent, small business (one that employs fewer than 20 people) with its own unique identity, typically family owned and operated.
  9. Businesses can be nominated in all relevant categories and can win up to 3 categories.
  10. Nominations can be lodged by business owners, employees and the general public.
